Woods of Ypres aim to play "summer metal", music that captures the harshness of the season so often ignored by nature themed metal bands. This is the band's first demo release, and it is based more in black metal, whereas the later albums are essentially heavy metal. On all of their releases the melodies are beautifully written by guitarist/vocalist David Gold, who I think is the frontman, but for some reason the keyboardist is front and center in every photograph.
